A Message from our Pastors
Dear Reader,
For those who do not know our journey, our little boy Zac was born with multiple heart defects. During my wife's pregnancy, once we discovered his heart problems, we trusted and believed with all our hearts for his “heart healing”. Little Zac was born & loved and celebrated for 27 hours before he went to be with Jesus. During the difficult time that followed for our family God would be steadfast and faithful in the journey of our own “heart healing”. He has led us through this on-going journey by speaking “HOPE” into our hearts … by shifting our focus beyond the unfathomable pain and promising us that there is destiny and purpose in our story and in the story for everyone who has experienced grief or loss in some way. We discovered that God is a God of HOPE.
It was through this journey that the Lord called us to plant a house church … Redeeming Hope Church … to be a home to those seeking a close knit family and to be a safe place for hurting hearts to discover JESUS, He is the one who stands closest to the broken hearted. We opened the doors to our home on the 1st of September 2013 and so began an adventure that has truly been one of our greatest privileges in journeying with very precious people that He has knitted into this special church family.
Some time ago, God started stirring in our hearts to grow, expand and open our arms wider to the community. It's our joy to share the promise of His redeeming hope and love with everyone God brings across our path and to demonstrate His “REDEEMING HOPE” in action. His love redeems ALL things! Nothing we negotiate is beyond His ability to lovingly heal and restore.
Today as a church family we were able to truly celebrate that! We are so excited to see where God will continue to lead and grow us in His perfect love. How grateful we are for the precious community of love of which we are a part. He has laid a firm foundation, so that we can reach out with His great love to whomever He leads our way.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
- We believe in one God, the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is the Creator of all things.
- We believe that Jesus Christ alone is Lord, that He is the first born Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary as both true God and man, was crucified and died, was buried and resurrected, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father.
- We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired, infallible Word of God and the source of our faith and conduct.
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the eternal reality of heaven and hell.
- We believe that salvation is for everyone who believes in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and accepts him as their personal Lord and saviour. Rom. 10:9-10
- We believe that God created male and female as two distinct genders, which together reflect the image and nature of God according to Genesis 1:26-28.
- We believe in the Biblical model of heterosexual relationships between one natural man and one natural woman and that this is the only marriage relationship that constitutes holy matrimony. We further believe that any sexual relationship outside of this definition, the Bible calls sin.
- We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart and life.
- We believe in divine healing through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ and that it is included in the new covenant, established through the redemptive work of the cross.
- We believe in water baptism and in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit and in the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that these are available to all believers.
- We believe in celebrating Jesus life, death & resurrection by sharing in the communion elements as taught by Jesus at the last supper.
- We believe in the Christian’s hope: the soon-coming, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ to an overcoming and glorious church.
